Ark Universal is a relative new company within the Maritime Security Market, but has a combined experience in both commercial and the military environments of over 40 years.
What makes Ark Universal so unique is that its Management are ex UKSF and have worked on board vessels in the HRA (High Risk Area, and claim to have been part of an unarmed team that safely managed a boarding situation, withdrawing the crew into a citadel and encouraging the pirates to leave empty handed without any injuries to crew or operatives. They have gain valuable experiences within operations centres for leading Maritime Security Companies. This breadth of experience has helped Ark Universal to engineer and perfect its service levels for existing and potential clients. Many Maritime Vessel owners see guards as a necessity but are understandably uncomfortable with the implementation of using them. Master and crew can at times be quite nervous. We demonstrate that we operate and integrate as part of the crew and do not have armed guards patrolling around the vessel, we are there to enhance the vessels daily routine not impede it.
We are fully conversant in both commercial and military environments and therefore understand clients requirements to deliver the military aspects safely encapsulated within a commercial framework.
Our service begins from the initial enquiry and we have a complete understanding of international and national laws both on land and at sea and can therefore advise the client on best practices - both economical and safety.
Once embarked our fully qualified and vetted teams survey the vessels specific security (we appreciate that each vessel and crews requirements are specific to that particular Transit). As an example we implement BMP4 and bolster this with our own hardening measures. During the early stages of the transit we train the crew and provide them with knowledge by showing them how to deal with a potential emergency as calmly as possible. We also discuss and demonstrate our RUF's (Rules for the Use of Force) and how we do not and will not employ a "gung ho" approach, we abide by UK Law.
We carry out full and continuous security monitoring whilst on board the vessel liaising with the Master and his subordinates at all times and once the transit has completed we provide the Master and Client with a full Post Transit Report including any further recommendations for future implementation. This is our “Full Spectrum Holistic Approach” and is something we are able to deploy rapidly and at short notice anywhere in the world to meet a client's security requirements.
